‘Chronic Illness Joke of the Week’ Series – Joke about answering where it hurts, when you have widespread chronic pain!

Welcome to my new series ‘CHRONIC ILLNESS JOKE OF THE WEEK’. Yes, the name speaks for itself, as weekly I will be sharing with you a joke that can be appreciated by people living with chronic illness and also their loved ones. But also for non-sufferers too, to give them an insight into our world of living with chronic illness and what it brings with it…

In my Facebook support group ‘HELEN’S FIBROMYALGIA AWARENESS & CHRONIC ILLNESS SUPPORT GROUP’ for people with chronic illness and their loved ones, I share a number of jokes or lighthearted meme’s about life with chronic illness and the group is able to identify together, laugh together and acknowledge a united struggle so no one feels alone. So I thought, why not share this interaction with my blog readers too! Hence ‘Chronic Illness Joke of the Week’ series being created.

Chronic Illness Joke of the Week!

Week 2: Joke about being asked where it hurts, when you have widespread chronic pain!

The following joke is funny because of all the times in medical appointments and treatments you are asked to indicate where your pain is. Now for the majority of people with Fibromyalgia, ME, CFS, Arthritis, etc – the pain experienced is widespread body pain. So when I’m asked to circle on a picture of a body where it hurts, I just draw a big circle around the whole outline of the body. So this following meme really made me giggle:

Now, I’m not saying living in widespread pain is funny, all us chronic illness fighters know it is no joke. However, learning to see the funny side of some of things we experience or have to do when living with it, can help us along the way to deal with things in a different way and avoiding the trap of annoyance and frustration as best we can. Laughter and smiles are medicine for our bodies too, as they release endorphins the bodies ‘happy’ hormone! Go on give me a smile, you know you want to… 😉 😉

Remember, I will be posting 1 new joke a week and they can be found under ‘Chronic Illness Life’ from the blog menu. Or click on the individual blog titles below, to laugh at previous weeks jokes:

  1. Yep, been there….drawn the picture. My GP once asked me to print off a dermatome (aka a diagram of a body with each nerve area sectioned), and colour in the areas that hurt. There was no white paper showing…head to toes. I looked like a rainbow. There was no pot of gold at the end of it though.

  2. Hahahah yep, I’m never getting acupuncture because there’d be needles everywhere! 😂Thanks for the giggles!
I hope you’re having a restful weekend with a few chuckles – humour is good for the soul, I totally agree! xx

    1. Right! I gave up on acupuncture for Fibro coz its just too widespread and just had it specifically for sciatica instead & just in place where sciatic nerve runs – it worked sooooo much better! Lol.
Thanks so much for passing by & sharing in much needed laughs with me 🙌 Happy weekend xx
