Hello and welcome to my series ‘CHRONIC ILLNESS JOKE OF THE WEEK’ where I share with you a joke that can be appreciated by sufferers and their loved ones. As well as non-sufferers too, to give them an insight into our world of living with chronic illness and what that brings with it…
In my Facebook support group ‘HELEN’S FIBROMYALGIA AWARENESS & CHRONIC ILLNESS SUPPORT GROUP for people with chronic illness as well as their loved ones, I share a number of jokes and lighthearted meme’s about life with chronic illness. The group members are able to identify together, laugh together and acknowledge a united struggle so no one feels alone. So i thought, why not share this with my blog readers too! Hence ‘Chronic Illness Joke of the Week‘ series being created!
‘Chronic Illness Joke of the Week’ about delaying the task of taking down all the Christmas decorations & asking Alexa to do it for you instead!
When you have chronic pain and chronic fatigue, Christmas, all be it enjoyable for many reasons, can be a really draining time of the year with so many extra things added to your ‘to do’ list or be it rather ‘to get through’ list. Putting up Christmas decorations is no exception! Yet I think we have more of a push to help us put them up as we enjoy looking at them once they are up, brightening up the house and making us sing “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”.
However, once it is all over and the time comes to take down the Christmas decorations that same push isn’t there for me as living alone, it seems like such a mammoth task, like looking up at a high mountain in front of you that you have to climb to get it done. I can’t be the only one still trying to avoid the mountain as we reach half way through January? 😉
I have to admit, for many a year this has stopped me putting up the Christmas Tree and all its trimmings, as I know I hate the dreaded task of taking them all down again. Instead, I settle for Christmas lights, a few ornaments and standing up the Christmas cards I receive. So when I saw this meme, it definitely made me giggle… I so wish it would work!!!
Remember this is a blog series, so the entire collection of jokes shared so far can be found under the ‘Chronic Illness Life’ option from the blog menu or click each joke below for more giggles:
